Soap opera star facing drunk driving charges after crash

New York media outlets have reported that the soap opera star Jensen Buchanan was taken into custody during the early morning hours of May 18 after allegedly being involved in a drunk driving accident in California. The 53-year-old actress is best known for her starring roles in the hit shows "One Life to Live", "Another World" and "The Young and the Restless".

Another gang sweep results in 21 indictments

In a sweep of alleged gang members by law enforcement agencies in New York, 21 reported gang members were indicted for allegedly participating in a ring involved in drug trafficking in the Bronx. The indictments were reported by the U.S. Attorney for the Southern District of New York on May 11.

While marijuana use doubles a driver's accident risk, hands-free cell phone use quadruples it.

Justin Blackmon pleads guilty to DUI charges

New York NFL fans may be familiar with former Jaguars wide receiver Justin Blackmon. He was suspended in 2013 due to violations of the NFL's substance abuse policy, and in December 2015, he was taken into custody for the third time on alcohol-related charges. He pleaded guilty to misdemeanor DUI and will face sentencing on June 8.
